Enclosed is a set of "Knife Edge Guides" for the sharpening module. (Part No. 1200900)
The Knife Edge Guides, especially the pair in front of the sharpening and honing stages, will in time develop small cuts in the surface where the knife rests during sharpening. This is normal but the depth of the cuts can be minimized by applying just enough light downward pressure to keep the knife edge in contact with the Guide. Extra pressure is counterproductive and shortens the life of these Knife Edge Guides. When these cuts approach 0.3175 cm deep, the Knife Edge Guides should be turned over or replaced. These Guides generally can be removed simply with a pair of needle nose pliers or by prying them up and out gently with a pointed tool. First simply invert the Guides and when both faces become badly grooved, insert a replacement.
